DESCRIPTION OF THE TOUR:

After the pick up from your accommodation or in a prearranged meeting place, we move to about 1800 meters of altitude to visit the tourist village of Piano Provenzana destroyed during the 2002 eruption. This event is the most explosive in the last three centuries and it is the last major eruption of the volcano that significantly changed its north side. Walking in one of the most beautiful paths of the volcano we go through rich forests, desert lava fields, craters with countless shapes and sizes, enjoying a unique volcanic landscape accompanied by memorable panoramas. We visit the craters of 2002, where the destruction, that has become part of the history of the volcano, originated.

On the way back we have a break at the Piano Provenzana cafes rebuilt after the tragic events and afterwards we move to another part of the volcano. We now walk on an immense lava field of an important historical eruption characterized by desolate plans of magmatic rock; we reach an immense volcanic cave that originated in the same eruption and we explore the numerous tunnels in which the lava flowed.

Visited places will be presented with explanations, images, videos and historical documents.

WHAT TO BRING AND ADVICES:
